WitchCraft Spells Introduction
What do you think of when you hear “witchcraft” and “spells?” Are you envisioning a haggard old woman with a wart on her nose and a scary cackle? Then Hollywood has been successful in convincing you that it what witches are. The truth though may surprise you. The truth is that anyone, including you can practice witchcraft. Spells are not as mysterious as most people want to believe they are either.
It is important that we stress the point right here that witchcraft is not Satanism. Witchcraft has more to do with living in harmony with the world around us and doing good than setting out to harm others. As a matter of fact, the standard saying amongst witches is that “If it harms none, do what ye will.” Spiritually speaking, Wicca offers insight and guidance to witchcraft. Know though this, all Wiccans are witches but not all witches are Wiccan.
WitchCraft Spells Are Not Evil
Spells are not inherently evil either, it depends on the intent of the person that is performing the spell. If there is evilness in your heart then that will flow out through the spell. The best analogy for how to think of a spell is that it is a prayer. The spell you create and perform is asking the universe to fulfill a need or desire for you. It is nothing more then you concentrating on what it is you want and sending that energy out to do your bidding. Spells can used for anything, much like a prayer, for health, happiness, money, protection, prosperity, stopping others from talking negatively about you. If you can think of a reason you can create a spell.
Now casting the witchcraft spell is something else that there is a huge misconception about. You do not have to stand over a huge boiling cauldron, if you want to use one at all, you can use a small one on the stove, I believe it is called a pot. Now if you chose to use a pot as your cauldron, you must only ever use it for the purpose of spell casting. You shouldn’t cast a spell in a pot, throw out the water and make spaghetti in it. There is a certain sacredness that belongs to each tool that you use.
You have no doubt heard of the circle of salt to cast a spell in. You do not have to stand inside a circle, it is recommended for the sake of protection. If you are going to do a spell where you are raising energy or calling upon the Gods, you may want to enclose yourself in a circle of salt. If you aren’t comfortable doing that, then don’t. Never do anything that you are not comfortable with, I would go as far to say ever, but especially when you are casting a spell.
The way a witchcraft spell works is this. You must be comfortable with what you are doing. You must be clear about what you are doing, meaning that you must know what it is you want this spell to do and that you are sure all the way down to your soul that you want it to happen. You must focus on the spell while you are performing it. The most powerful spells are the ones that you write yourself, using spells that someone else has written is wonderful to but if power is what you are after, write your own. Remember that whatever you are sending out into the universe is going to come back to you, so follow the “If it harm none, do what ye will.”
